Parenting Resources:
Look through our books and brochures to track down some ideas for family activities, or simply relax with the latest issue of your favorite parenting magazine while children play in the FRC.
While you're in the Family Resource Center, your child can enjoy our collection of picture books and intriguing table toys. No time to visit the FRC on the day of your Museum visit? Request a pass to come back to the FRC and explore at your leisure or check out these other recommended web sites.
Positive Parenting DuPage is a multi-faceted, county-wide collaboration comprised of dozens of organizations that work with families during the first three years of a child’s life. Click here for more information. |
Lectures
and Scheduled Events:
Want to hear the latest findings in child development and learn how you are your child's first teacher? Then, come to a Just for Grown Ups class and also earn CPDUs, or take an Erikson Class at DCM.
Imagination breaks,
storytelling, and other events are also scheduled in the Family
Resource Center. These events are normally scheduled during daytime hours. Please ask Visitor Services what’s happening each day you visit.
Focus in Play:
Play is a crucible for learning where skill sets meet flexible thinking! This lively 54-minute podcast discussion is about Play = Learning, led by two well-known authors. It was recorded at DCM in 2007, during our 20th Anniversary, and can be downloaded to play on your iPod, MP3
player or computer.
